Role Overview
The Corporate Risk Specialist will provide expert advice, support, and consultation on risk-related issues to Senior Leaders and their teams throughout the organization, with a particular focus on the IT sector. This position is vital for the effective implementation and ongoing enhancement of HCF's Risk Management Framework, as well as fostering a culture of risk awareness and maturity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering risk management insights to facilitate informed business decisions while ensuring operations remain within acceptable risk thresholds.
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of various business sectors to drive discussions on risk, contribute to risk evaluation processes, and advocate for a robust risk culture.
- Overseeing the review and updating of Divisional and Business risk profiles and registers, including leading risk workshops.
- Executing essential risk management tasks in line with the Risk Team Operational Plan, including supervising incident management and tracking the execution of Key Risk Mitigation testing plans.
- Assisting in the revision and enhancement of relevant policies, such as the Risk Management Framework, Risk Management Strategy, Risk Appetite Statement, and Business Continuity Management policies.
- Supporting the introduction of improved risk management practices as part of HCF's ongoing risk maturity advancement, including methodologies and systems.
- Collaborating with the Senior Risk Manager and Head of Risk Management to provide comprehensive risk analysis, insights, and reporting to the Executive and Board Risk and Compliance Committees.

- Experience in a risk advisory or consulting capacity, preferably within an APRA-regulated context.
- Familiarity with the IT sector.
- A mindset geared towards continuous improvement and critical thinking.
- Proven capability to gather relevant data, analyze it critically, and translate findings into meaningful outputs for senior management.
- Ability to provide succinct advice while demonstrating a strong understanding of business objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Flexibility in adapting work methods to meet team goals and business requirements.
- A desire for personal growth and skill development within a supportive team framework.
- Independence in managing daily tasks and prioritizing to achieve objectives.
