Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Actuary to lead industry and biometric research and analytics. This role involves guiding our global pricing goals and providing pricing guidance to regional and local offices. A focus on emerging biometric pricing risks and establishing the Biometric Pricing Assumptions team will be essential. Additionally, the Actuary will contribute to Enterprise Pricing thought leadership.

This position reports to the VP in the Enterprise Pricing team. The successful candidate could be based in Sydney or other RGA offices globally, including Toronto, Canada; St Louis, US; or London, UK, with the possibility of a Fully Remote Work Arrangement.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide pricing guidance and product best practices and advice to influence, validate or complement the knowledge found in regional and local offices, providing training and tools where necessary.
  • Identify, research, and model the impact of emerging biometric risks. Produce pricing tools, documentation, and guidance to meet new challenges and emerging pricing risks faced by local pricing teams and contribute to RGA's thought leadership content. Work with local offices on implementation of such tools.
  • Undertake benchmarking of key pricing assumptions such as long-term rates, mortality, and morbidity trends, summarizing findings and identifying opportunities for further guidance or thought leadership.
  • Provide cross-market comparisons and identify trends in Mortality and Morbidity products found in all global markets, acting as a bridge and reference point to bring new product ideas to selected markets with appropriate pricing infrastructure.
  • Lead pricing consulting projects provided to local or regional teams or as requested by global initiatives.
  • Contribute to RGA's global pricing community with active membership in product and pricing global working groups as requested.
  • Support RGA's development and implementation of corporate pricing standards and policies as requested.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Education and Experience
  • FSA or equivalent accreditation.
  • 5+ years of individual mortality, longevity, and morbidity (re)insurance experience.
  • 1-2 years of product/pricing actuarial experience at a senior level.
  • Experience developing pricing bases and particularly experience in mortality and morbidity future trend assumptions would be highly valued.
  • Advanced knowledge of pricing and reinsurance of individual life and living benefits products across a broad spectrum of products and/or countries.
  • Proficient in AXIS (or similar) and Advanced MS Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Confident user of programming languages such as R.
