Embracing a Role in Strategic Risk Oversight

The opportunity to contribute your expertise in risk management and assurance as a Sr. Mgr., Operational Risk Advisory at the Commonwealth Bank. As part of the Central Advisory and Analytics team, you will be working closely with the Team Leader to drive monitoring and assurance across key areas.

In this role, you'll have the chance to play a crucial line 2 role and bring consistency to our approach across all locations. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Proactively identifying opportunities to simplify risk frameworks, policies, and processes.
  • Executing targeted assurance reviews into areas of business growth or focus, using data analytics, assurance planning, or at the request of the business or management.
  • Performing comprehensive data analysis to support targeted monitoring activities, using internal and external data sources, to provide thematic insights.
  • Executing control assurance over specialist operational risk and compliance controls that support regulatory commitments.
  • Communicating assurance and risk review outcomes to stakeholders, providing valuable insights and recommended action plans.

We are looking for individuals who possess:

  • Evidenced experience in operational risk in banking or professional services.
  • A sound working knowledge of risk management frameworks, tools, and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assurance activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics, excellent report writing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

The estimated salary for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the location of Sydney, Australia.
