The Commonwealth Bank is seeking a seasoned Operational Risk Manager to lead the Technology and Operations (Tech & Ops) Risk team, providing specialist Operational Risk and Compliance advice, assurance and acceptance/approval of decisions made by Line 1 Technology.

This key role will be responsible for managing a team of professional SMEs to provide independent, pragmatic and value adding Ops Risk advice, assurance and approval/acceptance for CTO risks across the portfolio including subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have advanced engineering or architecture skill base and experience in operational risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and managing a team of professionals to provide Ops Risk advice, assurance and approval/acceptance for CTO risks.
  • Advising on the implementation of 3LoA and delivery of all elements of the Risk Management Approach and Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Leading the oversight and monitoring of existing and emerging CTO risks, controls, issues and incidents.
  • Ensuring the identification, escalation and reporting of related CTO matters to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Advanced engineering or architecture skill base.
  • Experience in operational risk management practices.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity, link risks to business strategy.
  • High-quality written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
