We are seeking an experienced Risk Management Lead for Technology Infrastructure to join our team at Commonwealth Bank.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, with expertise in technology infrastructure, engineering practices, DevSecOps, IT service management, and SRE/Observability disciplines.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work with a cross-skilled team that supports inter-connected risk domains. As a Risk Management Lead, you will provide independent, pragmatic, and value-adding operational risk advice and assurance for technology and cyber risks across the Group.

You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting three lines of accountability (3LoA) activities, contributing to the oversight and monitoring of key technology and cyber risks, controls, issues, incidents, and risk-in-change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide SME risk management advice to teams aligned in the Chief Technology Office, particularly in networks such as Core Networks, Network Foundational Services, and Workforce & Workforce Connectivity.
  • Work with a team of professional SMEs to provide independent, pragmatic, and value-adding operational risk advice and assurance for technology and cyber risks across the Group.
  • Monitor and report 3LoA activities to the Executive Manager, including BAU management of the Risk Management Approach, the Operational Risk Management Framework, and Compliance Management Framework in support of CPS 220.
  • Contribute to the oversight and monitoring of key technology and cyber risks, controls, issues, incidents, and risk-in-change.
  • Support the identification, escalation, and reporting of related technology and cyber risk and compliance matters to relevant stakeholders.

Your Background:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Detailed working and technical knowledge of technology infrastructure, engineering practices, DevSecOps, IT service management, SRE/Observability disciplines.
  • Experience in risk management and risk frameworks/3 lines of defence model, ideally in banking.
  • High-quality written and verbal communication skills, report writing, evidence gathering, and data analysis capabilities.
  • Stakeholder and influencing skills with the ability to proactively engage Line 1 teams and engender trust with pragmatic, commercially balanced risk advice.
  • A curious and humble mindset, understanding of external trends and changes, interest in continuous learning, to build risk management best practice.

What We Offer:

In return for your experience and skills, we offer a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
