Job Title: Senior Active Transport Project Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development and management of cycling and walking infrastructure projects in Yarra. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to make a meaningful contribution to our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve cycling and walking infrastructure in Yarra, aligned with the Yarra Transport Action Plan and Council Plan
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects, including the Principal Strategic Transport Planner, councillors, State Government agencies and other community groups
  • Provide expert advice on active transport initiatives and respond to enquiries from the public, councillors, colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Manage bicycle parking requests and coordinate installation across Yarra
  • Coordinate and attend meetings of the Yarra Transport Advisory Committee, supporting the operation of this key advisory group
Requirements:
  • A high level of experience in street design, transport planning, traffic engineering and project management, with a strong understanding of stakeholder engagement and relationship building
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the role and organisation

This is a part-time role working 30 hours per week, with flexible hours available. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of cycling and walking infrastructure projects and be able to contribute to the development of our organisation's transport plan.
