Job Description:

This role is responsible for the development and management of all referees in the league.

About the League:

The league's primary objective is to provide a safe, well-run basketball competition for all players, coaches, and referees.

We strive to create an environment that caters to the needs of junior players of all ages and abilities.

To achieve this, we are looking for a highly skilled Referee Coordinator to join our team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of all referees, including their grading and evaluation dates and results.
  • Provide regular feedback to referees on their performance and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with Basketball SA to run referee development courses and ensure a clear pathway for referees to progress.
  • Coordinate the referee roster for games, ensuring alignment to appropriate standards.
Key Requirements:

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Candidates must have a strong understanding of basketball rules and regulations, as well as experience in refereeing or a related field.

A current Working with Children Check is also required for this position.
