About the Role:

CSL Australia is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our cement carrier Goliath as a permanent full-time staff member.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and electrical equipment on board the vessel, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

This role involves steelwork repairs and maintenance tasks, issuance of work orders, reporting of deficiencies, and liaison with technical managers to ensure the vessel's technical soundness.

  • Ensuring the effective maintenance of the ship, including steelwork repairs and general maintenance tasks;
  • Issuing work orders and reporting any deficiencies affecting the safe and efficient operation of the vessel;
  • Liaising with technical managers to ensure the vessel meets regulatory, Class, and Company requirements;
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.

Requirements:

  • Educational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer class 1 (required);
  • Minimum 12 months sea time as a First Engineer (required);
  • MSIC Card (required or ability to obtain);
  • Working Safely at Heights (required or ability to obtain);
  • Enter and Work in a Confined Workspace certification (required or ability to obtain);
  • Current AMSA Medical (required or ability to obtain).
