This is a challenging role where you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of animals in our care.

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Animal Care Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. As an Animal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of animal care at our facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include performing animal care tasks such as cleaning cages/enclosures, medicating, feeding, exercising, and assessing animals.

About the Role
  • Provide basic first aid to animals where required.
  • Ensure high-level communication with managers and colleagues to ensure all information is provided to the required parties.
  • Provide high-level customer service to all stakeholders, including members of the public.

You will have the confidence to interact with customers from all walks of life and possess the following:

  • Certificate II Animal Care or equivalent experience is essential
  • Previous animal handling skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work rotating rosters, including weekends and public holidays.
  • The desire to work with people to improve animal welfare outcomes.
  • Initiative and ability to prioritise
  • Good organisational skills

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to conduct manual handling tasks
  • Resilience - the ability to bounce back from occasional setbacks
