About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Production Draftsperson to join our team at Simonds Homes. As a key member of our drafting team, you will be responsible for preparing and updating drawings as per client requests, ensuring timely completion and compliance with developer guidelines, local council, and energy rating requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update drawings for site dwellings, including design bench levels and liaison with professional consultants, planning authorities, and key suppliers.
  • Draft tender and contact drawings for appointments, and assist with production enquiries.
  • Check files prior to issuing final drawings, and assist with projects relevant to department plans and agreed strategy.
  • Undertake tasks as assigned on scheduling systems, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Liaise with the Drafting Team Leader regarding any drafting-related concerns, and work in cooperation with other teams to assist in pre-site and production queries.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in reading and producing working drawings, with a tertiary/TAFE drafting qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Background in residential construction, with a thorough working knowledge of Revit software and the National Construction Code (NCC).
  • Good analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience in production drafting within the residential construction industry.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work efficiently, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with existing team members.
