Job Overview

This permanent full-time opportunity is available at Caval Ridge in Moranbah, QLD.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to lead a mining crew and support the Production Supervisor in achieving production targets safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in open-cut coal mining operations and excellent leadership and people management skills.

A key responsibility of this role will be to perform regular inspections, complete reports, and coordinate dispatch personnel, production operators, and equipment to meet production schedules.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mining practices and be able to apply them to help reduce costs and improve efficiency.

We offer a brand new EA for 2025 with guaranteed annual 4% pay increases for the next 3 years. Our 7/7 roster includes 12.5hr shifts – Rotating Day & Night. You will also have access to BIBO options from Mackay or Proserpine, full camp facilities, meals provided, and a living out of camp allowance if applicable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Production Supervisor by leading a mining crew to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
  • Step up as a supervisor when needed.
  • Perform regular inspections and complete reports as per site policies.
  • Coordinate dispatch personnel, production operators, and equipment to meet production schedules.
  • Apply mining practices to help reduce costs and improve efficiency.
About the Role
  • Experience as a Step-Up Supervisor or Leading Hand in open-cut coal mining is highly valued.
  • Solid understanding of open-cut coal mining operations.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and presentation skills with a friendly and motivational approach.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Relevant qualifications in the coal mining industry.
