
Aboriginal Youth Advocate

Working in the Youth Justice System requires a deep understanding of community and cultural dynamics.

This role involves working closely with young people, families, and communities to provide tailored support services. To be successful, you will possess:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal Community history, culture, and social issues.
- Thorough understanding of youth justice principles and legislation.
- Strong case management skills, including assessment and intervention strategies for young people.
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or an Advanced Diploma in Community Services Work is highly desirable. Relevant tertiary qualifications with units in case management and supervised practical work placements may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualised support plans for young people.
- Conduct thorough assessments and provide culturally sensitive interventions.
- Build strong relationships with local community groups and stakeholders.
