Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Adult Mental Health Service team.

The successful candidate will have post-registration experience in an acute inpatient unit, with a strong focus on risk assessment, mental state assessment, care planning and knowledge of acute psychiatry nursing care and practice.

About the Team:

Our Adult Mental Health Service provides hospital and community services. We operate two 29-bed wards, including a statewide psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), as well as a comprehensive Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service and a CATT / Triage team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Registered Psychiatric Nurse to work on either the 1st Floor Psychiatry or Ground Floor Psychiatry inpatient units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, mental state assessments and develop effective care plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, family members and other professionals

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Nurse Division 1 or 3
  • Postgraduate qualifications in nursing or working towards this is desirable
