It is a major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north. Services are delivered through five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. The Mental Health Division aims to provide high quality services with strong clinical leadership and recovery-based practice across integrated community teams, inpatient and residential services.
The Role- Full/Part Time
- Working over 7 days, including morning/afternoon shifts
- Based in NAMHS Hotham Street Preston
An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic Acute Intervention Mental Health Clinicians to join Northern Area Mental Health Service (NAMHS). This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists.
Responsibilities- Provide recovery oriented care including assessment and development of interventions in collaboration with consumers/carers/families and other service providers including GP's, NDIS service providers and other stakeholders.
- Provide discipline specific evidence based practice and appropriate treatment options as required.
- Partake in discipline specific clinical supervision and workload management.
- Contribute to ongoing professional development activities and in-service training and sharing new knowledge with the clinical team.
- Experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability.
- Capacity to undertake alcohol and other drug screening, assessment and treatment planning, including brief interventions for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for self and for team members.
- A current Victorian Driver's License and ongoing ability to use this form of transport.
