Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, configure, and optimize ArcGIS Mapping and Charting solutions, including Defence Mapping and Workflow Manager on Defence AIS systems.
  • Develop, implement, and document the transition of business-specific GIS workflows from the current ArcGIS Workflow Manager Classic to the new web-first Workflow Manager system.
  • Develop and optimize automated ArcGIS Workflow Manager workflows.
  • Provide transparency and expert advice related to upcoming technology change, including risk and opportunity, related to the agency's foundation geospatial business.
  • Administer, maintain, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot the EPM Workflow Manager databases.
  • Provide streamlined processes and best practice approaches to service enable datasets (web-services).
  • Support the integration of the Defence geospatial requirements database (disconnected), and the creation of workflows to automate production planning within Defence systems.
  • Provide assistance with the regular renewal of the Esri Enterprise Agreement as directed.
  • Provide advice and support routine engagement with commercial and government partners as directed.
  • Provide call-in support for 24x7 coverage as needed for supported Defence exercises and operations.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in the installation, configuration, and support of ESRI's Mapping and Charting Solution suite.
  • Demonstrated experience using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Demonstrated GIS skills and experience in the management of spatial data.
  • Demonstrated experience to perform professional work involving a level of independence in approach, demanding a degree of originality and judgment.
  • Demonstrated experience administering Esri systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with Esri Web Services, and other related spatial services.
  • Working knowledge of open geospatial standards, including OGC, OWF GeoServices, and other relevant open standards.
  • Preferred knowledge and/or experience in Defence foundation geospatial production processes, Defence use of ArcGIS and its customer set, and Defence Intelligence business processes.
  • Preferred: Esri certification in one or more of the following: ArcGIS Desktop Associate and/or Professional, Enterprise Geodata Management, and Enterprise Administration.
  • Preferred: Understanding of Defence systems across multiple security domains.

Additional Requirements:

  • Personnel must gain certification in Enterprise Geodata Management Professional 2201 (or the most current release of this course) during the first 6 months of engagement.
  • Additionally, personnel regularly working to support platform enhancement and sustainment efforts must have certification in the Enterprise Administration Professional or gain certification during the first 6 months of engagement.
  • The location of services will be primarily at Victoria Barracks, Melbourne. There may be a requirement to travel to Bendigo for approximately 1-2 days per month.
  • The requirement is for a full-time support officer. Up to 5 days per week.
  • The expectation that the position may sometimes be required to be 'on-call' and available to work outside of regular hours at short notice, notably during critical business activities.
