Job Title: Purchasing Officer Full-time

Bosch Rexroth is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Officer to join our team in Kings Park, North-West of Sydney. As a key member of our Purchasing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation and maintenance of purchase orders, including project, stock, and service-related orders
  • Engage in supplier development and negotiation to secure the best possible terms and prices
  • Manage RFQs and tendering processes to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement
  • Monitor and expedite orders to meet deadlines and ensure timely delivery

Specific Tasks:

  • Creation of purchase orders using SAP on a daily basis
  • Obtaining quotes, managing RFQs, and supplier negotiations to secure the best possible terms and prices
  • Creation and maintenance of purchase order confirmations, in-transit records, and preparing paperwork for goods receiving department for all overseas shipments
  • Liaising with suppliers, internal stakeholders, customs brokers, and freight forwarders on a regular basis
  • Keeping all internal stakeholders updated on the progress of all outstanding orders
  • Proactively managing delivery delays or stock accuracy issues
  • Maintaining supplier portfolios and price lists
  • Making critical decisions on mode of transport for material required for stock and customer orders from all overseas suppliers
  • Conducting supplier evaluations and audits
  • Creation of indirect category purchase orders, sourcing, and strategy implementation
  • Purchase order administration and cost control

Requirements:

  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Proven experience in purchasing for at least 2-3 years
  • Graduates with experience in purchasing
  • Experience within a technical or engineering company
  • SAP R3 purchasing knowledge essential
  • Strong communication skills, clearly conveying information and ideas in both verbal and written formats
  • A strong team focus and personal work ethic
  • Formal qualifications in a commercial, engineering, or purchasing specific discipline expected
  • High proficiency in Excel expected
  • Experience with contract management desired
