Procurement and Vendor Management Leader

This is a leadership position that manages the procurement and vendor management function for a large organization.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing top-tier software providers and large contracts, as well as understanding terms and conditions especially performance metrics like Service Levels and KPIs are essential.

You will be responsible for managing monthly performance meetings and understanding reporting including analysis of trends and issues.

  • Manage external vendor relations & performance including SLA's governance, adherence to the SMF while building strong partnerships
  • Implement and manage vendor governance framework and supplier review processes, manage monthly performance meetings
  • Perform as functional bridge amongst external vendors as well as internal stakeholders
  • Develop and implement Category plans, sourcing strategies and/or negotiation strategies including define appropriate supply models for each category of spend and establish contracts that are competitive, reduce risk and optimise supply through appropriate SLAs
  • Determine the roles & responsibilities between Technology Procurement & Vendor Management and stakeholders within T&T; this will involve an assessment of complexity, existing intellectual property, risk, legal requirements, budget ownership and other relevant factors
  • Interpret T&C's, resolve vendor disputes that have been escalated or are of a systematic or strategic nature and work with T&T Domains to resolve supplier performance and governance issues & coordinate development and tracking of improvement plans, if required

Key qualifications include:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in vendor management or procurement, specifically experience with large software contract renewals and tenders
  • Experience in ICT Category Management/ Vendor Management to include Tier 1 Software providers, such as IBM, Oracle, ServiceNow, Microsoft etc
  • Experience in large organisations with complex environments, a background in the Insurance industry would be highly regarded
  • Experience in a centralised procurement/commercial environment providing services to a broad customer base.
  • Experienced in achieving and being accountable for tangible commercial results.
  • Experience in delivering quality outputs within tight timeframes within a standardised project management framework and structured procurement approach.
  • Experience in working with others in a (preferably commercial) strategy setting role.
  • Experience in influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, and delivering quality outputs within tight timeframes
