Job Summary">

As a Civil Designer, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and quality checking civil design work. You will produce 3D models, drawings, and documentation for projects, as well as take-off quantities for estimating purposes.

Key Responsibilities:">
  • Prepares 2-D CAD drawings and modeling of earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing from which detailed design 3-D CAD models and/or construction drawings are completed
  • Prepares portions of 3-D CAD design model under the supervision of experienced civil/structural designers
  • Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings, and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned
  • Prepares bulk material quantity takeoffs and material requisitions for materials applicable to civil/structural
  • Works with designers in other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate designs
  • Answers questions from clients or construction groups on design for civil/structural
  • Compiles, maintains, and accesses job drawing files, records, and drawing controls, as instructed
">Requirements:">

Typically a University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience is required. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have experience in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups. They will also have knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to design responsibilities.
