About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pastry Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong background in pastry preparation and presentation.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, with an acute attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. They will be responsible for creating and preparing all pastry items, ensuring food is prepared and produced on time, and maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Preparation and Presentation: Prepare and cook food, knead, mature, cut, mould, mix, and shape dough/pastry goods.
  • Patisserie Fillings: Prepare pastry fillings.
  • Glazing and Decoration: Glaze and decorate pastry items.
  • Technical Guidance: Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain regulatory compliance and adhere to OH&S and hygiene regulations.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless operation.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess:

  • A Certificate III in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • An ability to work well under pressure.
  • A positive and professional attitude.
