Business Development Manager Job Description

SMEs seeking tailored asset finance solutions to fuel business growth will find this role pivotal in delivering innovative commercial lending options.

  • Originate, structure, and close asset finance transactions across diverse industries including transport, construction, earthmoving, civil, manufacturing, service businesses, and import/export sectors.
  • Build and deepen broker, aggregator, accountants, and debt advisor relationships driving repeat business and referral flow.
  • Workshop transactions directly with brokers and clients helping uncover needs, mitigate risks, and shape win-win solutions.
  • Champion asset finance propositions in the market through industry events and networking forums.
  • Collaborate with credit and settlement teams to ensure deals are set up for success from approval to onboarding.

Drive new business acquisition and cross-sell working capital solutions.

We seek:

  • Proven sales success in commercial or asset finance ideally with a strong broker network.
  • A deep understanding of asset-backed lending structures, risk factors, and credit fundamentals.
  • Skilled deal structuring comfortable workshop scenarios and providing input on pricing, terms, and asset types.
  • Excellent relationship and influencing skills proactive, responsive, and a known connector in the finance ecosystem.
  • High energy, self-driven, and resilient passion for helping brokers and SME clients succeed.
