Policy and Business Analyst Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Policy and Business Analyst to support our directors in delivering high impact political and policy advisory services.

This is a unique entry level opportunity to gain hands on experience in Australian politics, public policy, and government relations. The successful candidate will work closely with senior consultants in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment focused on political strategy and advocacy.

The key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Conducting political and policy research, including tracking government policy, programs, announcements, and stakeholder issues
  • Monitoring political and media landscapes to identify relevant trends and insights
  • Contributing to stakeholder engagement projects and maintaining up to date intelligence for clients

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in politics and a solid understanding of the Australian political landscape. They will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

As a Policy and Business Analyst, you will be involved in a range of activities, including:

  • Drafting political briefs, research summaries, and submissions for internal and external audiences
  • Assisting with high quality written outputs, including Barton Deakin Briefs and client presentations
  • Supporting digital content updates and maintaining regulatory records

The role requires a proactive attitude, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
