About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Specialist to join our team at the City of Greater Geelong. As a key member of our Financial Planning and Analysis team, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial performance management of our organisational business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete monthly variance analysis on actual vs budget, forecast vs budget, etc.
  • Support month-end close activities, including processing journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Provide analytical support and performance management advice to business units, including budget forecasting and operating performance.
  • Utilise, transform, and report data to support decision-making.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Participate in the external audit process and compliance reporting.
  • Provide expertise in resolving cost allocation issues.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have sound experience in financial management and analysis. You will possess a strong understanding of financial software systems and be proficient in the use of enterprise financial systems, such as Oracle Financials.

Essential Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in finance, business management, or a relevant discipline.
  • Professional qualification as a CPA/CA or equivalent.
  • Highly developed analytical and investigative skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage across all levels of the organisation.
