Work with School-Age Children as an OSHC Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment providing a stimulating and supportive experience for school-age children during their before and after school hours.

As an OSHC Activity Assistant, you will be responsible for engaging young people aged 5-13 years through a high-quality learning, lifestyle, safety and fun education and activity program.

We are looking for staff who have a willingness and excitement to build positive relationships and great outcomes with young people. If you have completed or working towards a qualification in a relevant field such as Early Childhood Education and Care, Sport and Recreation, Youth Work, Social Sciences, Teaching, Community Services or Health, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with school-age children in a variety of educational and recreational activities
  • Support the development of social skills, teamwork and problem-solving abilities in young people
  • Assist in planning and implementing programs that cater to diverse needs and interests
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for all children and staff members

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A current certificate in HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • A current certificate in HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting or Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Training certificate that meets requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulation 2018
  • A Working with Children Check clearance valid for paid work
  • Relevant qualifications or experience working with children in an education and care setting
