**SEEKING AWESOME KIDS TAEKWONDO/SELF-DEFENCE INSTRUCTORS**

KICKS After School is a kids after school program that is structured around teaching kids leadership while also providing fitness and self-defence training for primary aged children. We are now looking for fitness instructors that love teaching kids to join our dynamic and growing team in Carlingford, Sydney.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

We are looking for people who:

- Are positive, happy, energetic people that love working with children
- Are mature, responsible and reliable
- Have a lot of patience with young kids
- Are available to work afternoon shifts (3:00pm - 7:00pm)
- Have a background in sports, fitness and/or martial arts
- Have a current Drivers Licence and willing to assist with after school pickups, driving our 12-seater commuter van (note that no special licence is required to drive our van, only a normal C class licence and training will be provided)
- Have, or willing to obtain, a Working With Children Check and First Aid Certificate
- Have experience working in an after school care environment, however this is not mandatory

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:

- Drive the commuter van to pick up students from local schools
- Help students learn the syllabus and techniques
- Run age appropriate warm ups, stretching and fitness activities
- Teaching simple martial arts principles such as punches, blocks, kicks, stances
- Keeping the kids focused and disciplined
- Help by developing fitness, strength, co-ordination and self confidence in the children
- Supervise kids during free play

**Qualifications and Skills**

KICKS staff are required to have a WWCC and be trained in First Aid. Applicants should either have these qualifications or be prepared to get them before commencing employment. Experience in teaching martial arts is beneficial but it is not essential as we provide training and support. Any work as a sports coach or any after school activity organisation is just as ideal. We are ideally looking for staff available five days per week however individual circumstances will be considered.

**Hours of Work**

We run classes every day throughout the school term from 3.00pm - 7:00pm. We also offer additional work during the school holidays as we run school holiday activities.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Subcontract

Pay: $23.37 - $40.00 per hour
