Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

Glencore is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at the Mines Power Station Maintenance department.

About the Role

This challenging role involves providing maintenance activities in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, upholding production and statutory requirements. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will work within skilled and enthusiastic teams, developing and applying your technical skills and mining industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance activities on Turbo Alternators, Boilers, Oxygen Plants, Cooling Towers, Water treatment plant, Blowers, Compressors, Tanks, and pressure vessels.
  • Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to ensure effective maintenance operations.
  • Develop and implement solutions to problems and issues that arise during maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Trade qualification – Fitter (Mechanical) essential.
  • Ability to think logically and solve problems.
  • Previous power generation or high-speed rotating equipment experience.
  • Current manual driver's license.
  • Experience within mining/heavy industry environment.
  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in small, highly productive teams.
