Job Opportunity: Locomotive Maintenance Specialist

This role presents a fantastic chance to be part of a team responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of locomotives. The selected individual will engage in complex trouble shooting, fault rectification duties, repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication of moving parts.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of locomotives to identify potential issues and make necessary repairs.
  • Supervise, mentor, and assist in the development of apprentices and locomotive maintainers.
  • Utilize and input accurate data into the Maintenance Management System.
  • Assist with the implementation and development of quality improvements to deliver quality customer service.
Requirements:
  • Must hold an electrical licence.
  • High risk licences/CPR LVF.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Candidates from heavy industry maintenance backgrounds highly regarded.
  • High level skills in trouble shooting, fault rectification, and preventative maintenance of rolling stock.
  • Adequate level of skill in interpreting technical instructions and drawings.
  • Sound computer literacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
