About the Role

As an Employment Consultant, you will be part of a team that assists individuals in developing and achieving their goal of gaining further skills and sustainable employment.

You will manage your own caseload of jobseekers, assisting them to overcome personal barriers preventing employment and working with local employers to find ways to support clients into work.

This role requires professionalism and working within procedural guidelines. You will use a database to log details, notes, and create progress reports on each client. Additionally, you will source job opportunities for your clients within the local community through business development activities and networking.

The role has targeted key performance indicators (KPIs) around sustainable job placements meeting clients' needs and expectations.

The position will be based in either South Brisbane or Fortitude Valley in Brisbane's CBD.

Requirements
  • Experience working in the employment services sector, ideally within Jobactive, Workforce Australia, TTW, or Disability Employment Services
  • End-to-end case management experience and familiarity with the ESS database
  • Insight and understanding into significant barriers facing people living with a disability and the long-term unemployed
  • Excellent networking skills and willingness to conduct business development activities with local businesses and community organisations
  • Ability to mentor and coach jobseekers through the job search process
  • Demonstrated qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity, and compassion
  • Good understanding of local labour market issues
  • Results-focused approach and ability to work to KPIs and targets
  • Excellent time management and organisational ability
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a clear police check and working with children's check
