Job Title: Patient List Coordinator

The role of a Patient List Coordinator is multifaceted and pivotal in the management of patients on the Planned Surgery Waiting List. They are responsible for overseeing the clerical aspects within the Department of Health Planned Surgery Access Policy, ensuring seamless coordination across the continuum of care from placement to day of surgery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collect and process waiting list forms from specialist clinics, private rooms, and other areas of SVHM in accordance with the DHHS Elective Surgery Access Policy.
  • Update and maintain accurate records on the Patient Administration System (PAS) as required.
  • Forward queries related to clinical management to the Surgical Liaison Nurse for timely resolution.
  • Maintain vigilance over Category 1 patients, ensuring their admission within the stipulated 30-day timeframe.
  • Monitor Category 2 and 3 patients to ensure timely access to surgery within established category timeframes.
About this Role:

This position necessitates relevant experience in administration within the healthcare sector, expertise in patient administration systems, proficiency in Microsoft office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and a current National criminal history check.
