Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for specifying, implementing and planning technical equipment and systems to support delivery of information and security capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of information security principles, practices and technologies, with experience administering a VMWare environment, including server, storage and network infrastructure. Additionally, they will possess good problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, maintain and patch a small VMWare based environment, adhering to ISM controls and best practices.
  • Carry out agreed operational procedures, including configuration, installation, maintenance and patching of network security systems.
  • Use network management tools to collect and report on network load and performance statistics.
  • Maintain knowledge of systems and/or security engineering processes, provide detailed advice regarding their application and execute systems engineering tasks.
  • Identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution, checking that they are managed in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Australian Citizenship and a TSPV security clearance is essential.
  • Experience administering a VMWare environment, including some server, storage and network infrastructure.
  • Good knowledge of information security principles, practices and technologies.
