">

We are committed to advancing systems change, ensuring dignity, justice and equity for all children and families. Our focus lies in national reform as well as evidencing a new way of working.

The Children's Ground Approach is a whole-of-community, whole-of-life approach that privileges First Nations knowledge systems and practice. We create and deliver an integrated system over the course of a generation, centred on learning, development and wellbeing. This responds to the child and their family through key transition points from pre-birth to young adulthood.

This approach recognises the cultural, social, and economic strength of our communities. We build on this strength over a generation to ensure a future for our children and grandchildren that gives them freedom, opportunity and rights to their culture and identity.

Our organisation operates in Central Australia and across the Top End, with support provided by a Shared Services team based in Melbourne.

About You

We are seeking a skilled researcher who holds a relevant degree/qualification. The successful candidate will be experienced and confident with report writing, having demonstrated expertise in undertaking literature reviews and evidence scans. A good understanding of evaluation and research approaches is essential, along with the ability to design and implement monitoring, evaluation and research strategies. Proficiency in MS Programs skills and familiarity with First Nations evaluation and data sovereignty principles is also required.

About the Role

This position plays a critical role within our Research & Evaluation (R&E) team, contributing to the development of leading practices in First Nations data, research and evaluation sovereignty. 2. Gather internal and external evidence to contribute to evaluation, research, advocacy submissions to government and other key stakeholders.
  3. Establish a system of monitoring and utilising national and international literature and evidence, with support from senior R&E staff.
  4. Contribute to the development of leading practices in First Nations data, research and evaluation sovereignty.
  5. Review and enhance existing external research partnerships processes and documents.
  6. Lead a project benchmarking our research and evaluation against national and international leading practice in Western and First Cultural standards and practice.
  7. Collaborate with R&E teams in each region to document the views and perspectives of local First nations staff about First Nations data, research and evaluation sovereignty and standards.
  8. Explore innovative ways to visualise key research and evaluation principles, approaches and processes.
  9. Develop and maintain an internal register of strategic research priorities.
  10. Contribute to identifying research grant opportunities to fund internal strategic and community research projects.
  11. Participate in peer learning initiatives.
  12. Support the development of R&E resources for First Nations leaders, staff and communities.
  13. Plan and report on progress, including quarterly reports to the Director and funding reports.
