An exciting opportunity exists for a researcher of Indigenous background to contribute to groundbreaking healthcare research.
This position supports Indigenous researchers to:
- Develop hands-on laboratory experience.
- Acquire skills in genomic and multi-omic sequencing techniques.
- Explore health research focused on diagnosis, particularly within Indigenous communities.
- Pursue initiatives aimed at closing the gap in genomic healthcare.
The Fellowship provides support for relocation, travel, stipend, skills development, and professional growth. A flexible work schedule, including remote work, can be arranged.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful, the candidate will:
- Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
- Hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant field or be an early-mid career researcher with a strong academic record.
- Have a background in biology, genetics, biotechnology, health sciences, or a related discipline.
- Have experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Be available to undertake the Fellowship at Melbourne, Australia (remote work arrangements possible).
