Advanced Clinical Wound Care Specialist

Clinical Nurses in the Wound and Stomal Therapy Service provide advanced clinical care to children with complex wounds, bowel and bladder stomas, urology surgery, and pressure injury management.
Working closely with paediatric general surgical teams ensures quality standards are maintained.
About The RoleThis position involves delivering high-quality patient outcomes in accordance with the CHQ Leadership Excellence Framework, Queensland Public Service, and CHQ values.
Accountability includes nursing practice, professional advice given, and activities delegated. Additionally, duties are performed in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015 – GLS Nurse Grade 6 Band 1, and CHQHHS commitments and values.
Key Responsibilities- Providing expert planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills in the clinical management of complex wounds, bowel and bladder stomas, urology surgery, and pressure injury management.
The service works closely with paediatric general surgical teams, attending to children with complex care needs while maintaining quality standards.
The team consists of experienced nurses who deliver person-centred care through a network of services and facilities.
Paediatric care is provided to inpatients and outpatients, as well as linking children to their local Health and Hospital Service (HHS), and staff education. There is a strong focus on self-education and support to assist with this.
