Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and compassionate support worker to join our team in providing care for individuals living with disability.

This role involves delivering personalized support services, enabling clients to maintain their quality of life. Key responsibilities include supporting community participation, daily living skills, and household tasks, as well as transporting clients to appointments and assisting with showering routines.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. They must also demonstrate empathy, compassion, and strong listening skills when working with clients and their families.

In addition, the successful applicant will have the ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. They will also be required to hold relevant certifications, such as First Aid Certification and Working with Children Check.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients in community participation, daily living skills, and household tasks.
  • Transport clients to appointments and assist with showering routines.
  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff, management, participants, family, and friends.
  • Liaise with participants' family and friends to explore new goals and ambitions.
  • Implement strategies and programs to develop participant skills and promote independence.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A good understanding of how to support an individual living with disability.
  • Compassion, empathy, strong listening, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Current First Aid Certification, Working with Children Check, National Police Certificate, Driver Licence, and NDIS Workers Check (preferred).
