Environmental Intelligence Leader

Our department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to lead our Strategic Intelligence team. The role will be based in Canberra, Melbourne, or Sydney.
About Our Department
Our Environmental Permitting and Compliance Division plays a critical role in protecting Australia's environment by ensuring compliance with national environmental laws. With the establishment of the new Environment Protection Agency (EPA), we are excited to take on this challenge and contribute to shaping the future of environmental protection in Australia.
As a Strategic Intelligence Lead, you will oversee the development and delivery of insightful analysis and robust intelligence products on environmental compliance and enforcement issues. You will work closely with stakeholders across the department and broader government agencies to drive information sharing and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Direction and planning for the Strategic Intelligence team
Deliver objectives of the Strategic Intelligence Forward Work Plan
Supervise and guide a small team producing strategic intelligence products
Drive ongoing development of the strategic intelligence capability
Work with stakeholders to understand and articulate their intelligence needs
Drive data and other information management process improvements
Share regulatory intelligence practices with international partners
Requirements
Leadership experience with direction skills
High-level understanding of intelligence processes and systems
Contextualising intelligence within a broader strategic response
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Ability to exercise good judgment and work autonomously
