Technical Lead

We're seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our team at Open Universities Australia. As a Technical Lead, you'll play a key role in providing technical leadership and guidance to our software development team.
About the RoleIn this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our web-based systems. You'll work closely with our product development team to understand requirements and develop customer-centric solutions that align with our technical vision.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement software solutions using various programming languages, databases, and cloud technologies.
- Lead on complex features and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.
- Support and maintain production systems, ensuring they are stable and performant.
- Mentor and coach junior developers to help them grow in their careers.
- Advocate for and implement mature software engineering practices across the organization.
- Advanced experience in software development using JavaScript (React.JS, Node.JS, TypeScript), C# or similar.
- Strong understanding of web architecture patterns and conventions, including microservices, API design, contract testing, containerization, test automation, and serverless architecture.
- Experience with cloud computing services (AWS) and associated technologies.
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
- Strong ownership of problems and consultative approach to business partnering.
- Able to adapt quickly and manage an environment of rapid change.
