Job Description

As a Mental Health Dual Diagnosis Peer Worker, you will be part of our team at Wollongong Hospital, working collaboratively with the Mental Health Emergency Teams to enhance outcomes for individuals with a Dual Diagnosis.

The successful candidate will have a lived experience of mental health and drug and/or alcohol issues, and will provide an effective link between consumers/carers, clinicians and services, with a focus on improving the consumer journey and treatment outcomes whilst providing advocacy and support.

Key responsibilities include developing strong and effective stakeholder partnerships, including liaison with families and/or carers, as well as working weekends and afterhours, and travelling across the district as needed.

Requirements
  • Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Certificate IV in Peer Work or willingness to undertake the Certificate IV in Peer Work
  • Valid NSW Drivers Licence
