About the Role:

Senior Project Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team at UGL, a leading provider of construction and engineering services. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, the HumeLink West Project.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Coordination: Provide technical and administrative coordination for the design, supply, construction, and testing phases of the project.
  2. Interface Management: Oversee the interface between UGL's design engineers and external consultants to ensure seamless collaboration.
  3. Schedule Monitoring: Track project progress and assist the Planning and Construction Management Team in updating plans to ensure timely completion.
  4. Forecasting: Conduct schedule and cost vs. budget forecasting to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  5. Procurement Management: Ensure procurement aligns with the allocated budget and meets the project's requirements.
  6. Team Supervision: Mentor, supervise, and manage direct reports to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties.
  7. Subcontractor Liaison: Ensure subcontractors comply with drawings and customer requirements.
  8. Client Engagement: Lead meetings and technical discussions with clients to ensure their needs are met.
  9. Compliance and Documentation: Assist the Project Manager with UGL's Management System compliance and prepare Inspection and Test Plans with the Quality Manager.
  10. Quality Assurance: Ensure all work complies with UGL's Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001:2008 requirements.
  11. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant safety legislation and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  1. Tertiary Engineering Qualification.
  2. RPEQ certification is desirable.
  3. Knowledge of AS 9001 Quality Systems.
  4. 5-10 years' experience in project-related disciplines, preferably in utilities, transmission/substation, and energy sectors.
  5. Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, MS Project, and email.
