Job Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Legal Practitioner Level 1 to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about litigation and legal services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking litigation on behalf of the department, providing legal services and support, and meeting the requirements of the Tasmanian State Service Award - Legal Practitioners - Level 1.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake litigation on behalf of the Department of Police and Emergency Management with particular emphasis on matters relating to the criminal law.
  • Provide legal services and support to the department.
  • Meet the requirements of the Tasmanian State Service Award - Legal Practitioners - Level 1.
Requirements
  • A degree in law or a related field.
  • Admitted to the legal profession under the provisions of the Legal Profession Act 2007.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Pre-Employment Checks
  • Satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.
  • Not have any serious criminal offences or repeated serious offences over any period.
Selection Criteria
  • Relevant experience in litigation and legal services.
  • Ability to meet the requirements of the Tasmanian State Service Award - Legal Practitioners - Level 1.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
