Job Overview

A seasoned legal professional is sought to provide expert advice on major energy projects.


About the Role

The role will support strategic energy projects across development, construction and operational phases. This position is based in Perth, Sydney or Melbourne and reports to a Senior Legal Manager.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive legal guidance and advice on matters relating to development projects (power generation and storage) and assets.
  • Draft and negotiate project documents with a focus on energy contracts (e.g. connection agreements and offtake arrangements) in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage external legal advisors and deliver training to internal teams.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks across the project lifecycle.
  • Champion legal governance and contribute to team leadership.
Requirements
  • Law degree and admission to practice in an Australian jurisdiction.
  • Experience in project development (construction and/or energy)
  • Minimum 7 years' legal experience in a major law firm or in-house role.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Proven ability to build effective internal relationships.

This role requires full working rights within Australia.
