As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of food items, ensuring the quality and presentation meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients and cook food according to recipes and established standards.
  • Prepare sushi rice, handle raw fish, craft different types of sushi rolls, prepare different sauces and other items as per menu and possess good knife skills and cutting techniques.
  • Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality, monitor food temperatures during cooking and storage, and ensure that finished dishes meet the restaurant's quality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, follow proper hygiene practices, and monitor food temperatures.
  • Manage inventory levels of ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and communicating with the kitchen manager regarding ingredient orders and replenishment needs.
  • Communicate effectively with other staff to coordinate tasks, maintain workflow, and ensure timely food service.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cook in a professional kitchen.
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 per annum.
