Job Overview

The Senior Governance and Assurance Officer will play a critical role in providing advice on governance, assurance, and audit activities that support the Defence Export Controls Branch objectives. This position offers opportunities for professional development and engagement in work across the Branch.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing key stakeholder relationships and achieving outcomes in relation to Branch governance, performance reporting, and risk management;
  • Providing guidance and service for a range of complex activities;
  • Prioritising workload under minimal direction;
  • Communicating effectively with Branch business teams and external stakeholders;
  • Being accountable for ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability;
  • Prioritisation and time management skills;
  • Knowledge of governance, assurance, and audit principles.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated $90,000 - $96,500 per annum, plus up to 15.4% Superannuation. You will also have opportunities for professional development and growth within the organisation.
