About the CompanyOur client is a private medium-sized engineering firm specialising in civil and structural design and project management across the Darling Downs & Maranoa. With a wide range of projects in the pipeline, across local government, state government (Transport & Main Roads), energy/gas, and private sectors, this leading firm offers a mix of office and site-based work.
Salary & BenefitsThe successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, plus superannuation and leave loading.
Job DescriptionThis is a hands-on role working predominantly in the civil design arm of the business, involved in all aspects of projects and project management. Reporting to the Principal Civil Engineer daily and Company Directors occasionally, you will work alongside the internal Civil Design team and Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:- Project management of civil designs and provide technical input to the design;
- Undertake analysis and preparation of technical reports for various aspects of projects including stormwater management, pavement and surfacing;
- Undertaking inspections of works in progress to verify compliance against design;
- Administration of construction contracts;
- Liaising and coordination with colleagues, clients, subconsultants and contractors;
- Mentoring less experienced staff;
- Scoping of projects and preparation of fee proposals; and
- Communicate across all levels and interpret client needs.
The successful candidate will have extensive Australian experience in a relevant civil engineering area. A demonstrated knowledge of theory and practices of planning and design of road systems, hydraulics and hydrology for stormwater design, and sewerage and water reticulation is essential. Registration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or eligibility for registration is not required, however will be highly regarded.
A minimum 10 years relevant experience, with at least 5 years relevant Australian experience, is also required.
