Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Counsellor to join our team in North West Tasmania. This is a permanent position working up to full-time, with hours negotiable for the successful applicant.

This role will see you provide specialist clinical support and advocacy services to victim-survivors of sexual assault and their non-offending family members and support systems. You will also participate in outreach services and educational program delivery, specifically working with children and young people affected by sexual harm and supporting children and families displaying sexualised behaviours.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in counselling, social work, psychology, or equivalent qualification, or occupational therapy with mental health accreditation. They will demonstrate knowledge of the impacts and dynamics of sexual assault and experience in trauma-informed counselling.

The selected candidate will be able to effectively intervene, prioritise, and manage crisis situations. They must be committed to inclusive practice and proven capacity to meet the diverse needs of clients. The ability to quickly acquire a working knowledge of Tasmanian legislation and policies pertaining to sexual assault, child protection, and family violence is essential.
