Environmental Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Environment Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Environment Operations group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our construction projects are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.
You will be based in one of our major cities and will be responsible for overseeing compliance and governance of environmental requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure environmental compliance during construction, including identifying obligations, reviewing studies, contributing to risk assessments, and escalating risks or non-compliance as needed.
- Prepare and submit environmental regulatory reports, including Annual Performance Statements, National Pollution Inventory, and AGL Annual Sustainability Reporting.
- Provide technical environmental advice to stakeholders, including contractors and project teams, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Environment, Science, or equivalent, and extensive experience in contractor management in a greenfield construction environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, team members, and leaders.
- Proactive and energetic approach to leading and delivering against tasks, with a strong focus on achieving project goals and objectives.
- Extensive experience working with project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Strong compliance and risk management, project management, analytical, and conceptual skills.
