Excavation Operations Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and physically fit individual to join our team as an Excavation Operations Assistant.

The role involves working in a dynamic environment, supporting the delivery of excavation operations on-site. As a key member of our team, you will assist with various tasks, including loading, tying, and firing blasts, while prioritizing safety and care for the environment.

This is a drive-in drive-out (DIDO) position, operating on a 7 days on/7 days off roster. Camp facilities are provided for the duration of the roster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting shotfirers and other site personnel as required;
  • Assisting with the hands-on delivery of explosive products, drilling, and loading explosives in blast holes;
  • Working collaboratively with team members to provide excellent service to customers;
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to our core value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always';
  • Conducting oneself with integrity and respect at all times.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of work experience in physically demanding roles, working in varied weather conditions;
  • Ability to pass relevant security checks, including QLD Explosives Security Clearance;
  • Excellent attitude, with a positive and team-based approach;
  • Basic mechanical comprehension is advantageous but not essential.
