We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced API Engineering Manager to lead our API and integrations business stream. As a key member of our Product Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring our core API and integration solutions are robust, scalable, and secure.
This is a new role, reporting into the Senior Director, Product Engineering, who is an ex-startup CTO with a strong track record of leading multi-disciplinary tech teams. You will work closely with our Senior Director to develop and implement our API and integration strategy, and will be responsible for mentoring, coaching, and leading your team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and implementation of our API and integration strategy
- Mentoring and coaching your team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
- Working closely with our Senior Director to develop and implement our API and integration roadmap
- Ensuring our API and integration solutions are robust, scalable, and secure
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with our products and services
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong background in backend software development, including public-facing API products. You should have experience using AWS or other cloud providers, and be proficient in Python and the ecosystem that surrounds it. You should also have expertise in Restful API design and management, as well as exposure and knowledge of SQL, advanced database design, and optimisation and performance best practices.
In addition to your technical skills, you should be able to gather and document tech requirements and specs, and have an understanding of CI/CD methodologies and building pipelines.

We offer a competitive salary range of $150k to $180k + super, depending on experience, and a flexible hybrid working schedule that includes some office time and some home time.
