The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to follow instructions precisely, and possess strong communication skills. You will assist with technical work, conduct research and experiments, and perform trials in various facilities. Your tasks will include gathering and analysing data, preparing reports, and working across pilot plant, office, and production environments.

The Opportunity

Support the development and commercialization of new product development (NPD) and materials productivity projects. Assist with pilot plant trials, including ingredient weighing, product blending, filling, and processing, managing finished samples, and organizing sample shipping. Maintain pilot plant inventory by sourcing materials, ensuring traceability, and proper labelling.

The Accountabilities

  • Support the development and commercialization of new product development (NPD) and materials productivity projects.
  • Assist with pilot plant trials, including ingredient weighing, product blending, filling, and processing, managing finished samples, and organizing sample shipping.
  • Maintain pilot plant inventory by sourcing materials, ensuring traceability, and proper labelling.
  • Conduct shelf-life and sensory testing, and perform analytical testing on ingredients, WIPs, and finished products.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of projects and trials, update systems, and support supply chain, procurement, and planning initiatives.

The Ingredients for Success

Just like you can't make Campbell's Chicken Stock without chicken, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role:

  • Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related science field preferred, with technical knowledge in product development, thermal processing, and sensory assessment highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or hospitality desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities for effective decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in email, spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), and word processing (Microsoft Word).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a proactive approach, and a passion for food and science.
