Job Description:

An exceptional opportunity exists in the Rex Engineering Team, for an experienced and highly motivated individual to lead our Perth operations as a Senior Base Engineer.

This is a full-time position that reports directly to the General Manager Engineering, or delegate.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Engineering Procedures and Certification requirements in their area of responsibility;
  • Maintain the necessary Engineering Infrastructure at the maintenance base to meet KPIs (e.g., OTP etc.);
  • Monitor and control costs associated with aircraft and GSE maintenance.

Description of Duties:

  • Provide proactive leadership to the Perth-based engineering staff and participate in broader engineering leadership directives;
  • Implement schedule-based rostering to meet contract requirements;
  • Review Planned Maintenance Activities in advance;
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, tooling, data, and Aeronautical Products to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities;
  • Monitor and control OTP, efficiency, costs, and other KPIs at the Perth Engineering base;
  • Audit and update Regulatory and Maintenance Data held at the base;
  • Ensure serviceability of tooling and equipment and manage Preventative Maintenance/Service Programs for Ground Support Equipment;
  • Monitor training and performance requirements for engineering staff;
  • Monitor, report on, and participate in WHS issues and directives;
  • Other duties as directed by GME or delegate.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Proven self-starter with a flexible attitude;
  • Proven ability to manage a close-knit team while working unsupervised;
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative;
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines;
  • Experience in Airline Operations;
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to deadlines in a high-workload environment;
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements;
  • Hold a CASA B1 or B2 licence and be eligible for Saab 340 type training.

Conditions:

The estimated salary for this role is AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience, and will be discussed with the successful applicant.
