Job Title

A senior engineering leader is required to oversee the engineering team at our underground longwall operation.

This is a key role within the senior leadership team, responsible for setting engineering standards, ensuring statutory compliance and delivering safe, cost-effective and innovative solutions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team in mechanical, electrical and support roles.
  • Ensure all relevant statutory and safety obligations are met.
  • Oversee the implementation and performance of site maintenance and reliability strategies.
  • Manage budgets and contribute to annual mine planning processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement, digitalisation and innovation in engineering practices.
  • Embed a positive safety culture across engineering operations.
  • Support the implementation of lifecycle asset management and equipment care initiatives.
  • Contribute to major projects and performance improvement initiatives across the site.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • NSW Practising Certificate as Manager of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Underground Coal).
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Project Management.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior engineering or leadership position within underground coal mining.
  • Strong understanding of HSEC and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Sound commercial acumen and experience managing budgets and engineering systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, reliability-centred maintenance and digital systems is desirable.
  • Risk Management and ICAM incident investigation qualifications are advantageous.
