We are seeking a Senior Payroll Executive Leader to lead our payroll shared services across Australia and the broader APAC region.
This is a key leadership opportunity where you'll combine hands-on payroll execution with driving strategic initiatives that shape the future of our operations.
You'll lead a dedicated team of six, overseeing payroll for over 3,000 employees across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
In this role, you'll ensure payroll is accurate, compliant, and timely, while championing continuous improvements, system harmonisation, and the smooth integration of new businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team to achieve operational excellence.
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations for over 3,000 employees across multiple entities, jurisdictions, and systems spanning Australia, New Zealand, and the broader APAC region.
- Ensure payroll processing is accurate, compliant, and timely for a diverse, multi-jurisdictional workforce.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and business leaders to align payroll with organisational goals, resolve escalations, and improve service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvements through service optimisation, process automation, standardisation, SOP development, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead payroll integration projects for acquired entities, driving harmonisation and standardisation of payroll processes.
- Ensure compliance with Modern Awards, EBAs, NES, and relevant jurisdictional requirements.
- Oversee statutory reporting, reconciliations, and year-end processes, including Workcover, payroll tax, and employee share statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- 5+ years' experience managing payroll in multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environments.
- Deep knowledge of Australian, New Zealand, and APAC payroll legislation and compliance.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage both in-house and outsourced payroll services.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (Chris21, Oracle, Pronto) and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Experience with expatriate payroll and international compliance (desirable).
- Tertiary qualifications in Payroll, Finance, or Business (preferred).
- Certified Payroll Professional accreditation (advantageous).
- Be part of a high-performing finance team driving operational excellence.
- Lead transformation and integration projects across a dynamic and growing region.
- Work in a collaborative, values-driven environment with flexible hybrid arrangements.
- Play a key role in shaping payroll strategy and service delivery across APAC.
